Pinole California
The residents of the quiet, middle-class
bedroom town of Pinole may have a longer commute than those who
reside in Oakland, Berkeley, Albany or El Cerrito, but the
affordable homes and quality of life seem to make up for it.
Rolling hills, nice neighborhoods, low crime, good school
rankings, community festivals, and warmer weather than
neighboring cities make this a charming place to live.
The homes in Pinole range from modern houses along the bayfront,
traditional ranch style homes, and Queen Anne cottages and
wooden bungalows in the older part of town. In the rural
canyons, many homeowners stable horses and take advantage of
scenic riding trails right in their own backyard.
Pinole has many classic small town amenities including a local
bowling alley, public library, and sports fields. Families here
enjoy a range of activities from strolling along the waterfront
to catching the latest blockbuster together at the 9-screen
movie theater. For groceries and other necessities, residents go
to the local shopping plaza. Macy's and Sears and dozens of
other national retailers
are just one freeway exit away at Hilltop Mall in Richmond.
Located on the shores of San Pablo Bay in West Contra Costa
County, Pinole is 14 miles from the Oakland Bay Bridge. Highway
4 to East and Central County is only one mile away and local
buses frequently travel to BART stations.
