Albany Hill

Cloaked in oak and eucalyptus, the high-rises of Albany Hill boast some of the most dramatic views in the entire area.

Homeowners on this prestigious hill along the east shore of San Francisco Bay are privy to majestic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the sparkling San Francisco Bay, and the picturesque Berkeley Hills. This "little hill," although entirely within the boundaries of the city of Albany, is the namesake of its immediate neighbor to the north: El Cerrito.

Located on the western edge of Albany, Albany Hill's real estate remains in close proximity to all the city's many retail shops, restaurants, BART, and of course its stellar school system -- all while keeping a majority of the hill undeveloped. The trails winding through eucalyptus groves that crown the hill offer a wonderful landscape for brief escapes from the daily grind.

Residents enjoy going down the hill to the popular El Cerrito farmer's market for locally grown fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, and live music. The market is held twice a week at the Plaza, which includes Albertson's, Barnes and Noble, and Starbucks Coffee.
