About Robin Kingsbury

My background is entrepreneurial. I started in the software development industry in Washington where I co-founded BHK, Inc., developing turnkey document imaging systems with searchable full-text databases. This was way before there was a Google.

I spent 15 years in direct sales and marketing positions with several start-ups and national companies that specialized in this technology. I was primarily involved in business development, client relations and marketing. I bring these skills to all of my clients; both sellers and buyers require negotiation skills and a keen sense of the details required to properly maximize the current and future value of a property.

Every property, like each child, is unique. I provide a perspective that encapsulates each property's potential. This is essential when you are making probably the single largest investment in your life. It's important to understand where you are likely to be financially ten years into the future.

After getting married and having our daughter (now 10 years old), I decided to make a career change that would allow me to have a local focus, rather than a national one requiring extensive airline travel, trade shows and restaurant food.

This lead me to joining Red Oak Realty in 2001, and it was the best career decision I have ever made. Not only have I been able to benefit my clients with my background in sales, marketing and client management, real estate is the most personally fulfilling profession I have ever had. I bring that passion to work every day and to every client.

DOM: "Days-on-Market"

DOM is an excellent indicator of an agent's efficiency and ability to prepare, price, negotiate, and get a property into contract. For example, in Berkeley, my DOM is 22 days; the average agent's DOM is 29 days. In El Cerrito, my DOM is 16 days; the average agent's DOM is 29. My average DOM for the whole market is 19; the market average is 29. A shorter DOM is an indicator of the agent's ability to meet and exceed clients' expectations on both sides of the transaction
