REAL ESTATE WITH AN INDEPENDENT SPIRIT
Just like our Bay Area weather, the real estate market in the East Bay is made up of microclimates (or micro-markets) that vary widely and change frequently. That's why it's so important to have a Realtor who knows our market both broadly and deeply, and is nimble enough to help you navigate it.
I look at houses all the time, and I tour them with the eye of a marketing guru, a personal shopper, an interior designer and an appraiser. When Red Oak Realty talks about being "seriously local," this is what it means to me: I see each property on its own merits as well as within the context of its block, neighborhood and city... and always through the lens of how it informs the market for my clients. My clients receive outstanding service, and I am proud to say that over 90% of my business comes from referrals from satisfied clients.
As your Listing Agent, it is my job to ensure that you sell your property for the most money and on the best terms possible. At Red Oak Realty I have access to a tremendous amount of market analysis and hyper-local neighborhood stats, as well as my own expertise. Together you and I will review all the assets and features of your home as well as the market data, and then I'll craft a strategic, personal plan for achieving your goals.
I will help you prepare your property for sale, price and position it appropriately, secure inspection reports and compile the disclosures, and follow through on all of our marketing efforts. I'll be there with you every step of the way, and keep you apprised of our progress at each step. I'll be a fierce negotiator, and once we've accepted an offer I will shepherd it through escrow until it's closed.
As a Buyer's Agent, I am your personal shopper. I want to have a genuine understanding of your goals, budget, target neighborhoods and more. Talk to me about how you live and what you want in terms of size, style, and condition, as well as which amenities are important to you — s chools, walkability, access to transit, a yard for urban farming, a workshop or artist studio... you name it. Buying a home is an emotional process and it's also a huge investment; the more I understand about your wants and needs the better.
I will preview properties, show you homes, and keep you updated on the market with email notifications of new listings, open house schedules, and reports after Broker Tours. I'll help you navigate the bidding process and put forth your strongest offer. Once accepted, I'll walk you through your inspections and guide you through the escrow right up until I get to hand you your keys. I know how overwhelming it can be to purchase a home, and it's my goal to make it as easy and fun as possible to buy the perfect place for you.
ORANGE DOOR PROPERTIES at RED OAK REALTY
For over ten years before joining Red Oak, I owned and managed Orange Door Properties
, a boutique independent brokerage devoted to personal service, local knowledge, and green business practices. It was my vision to create a brokerage with an independent spirit — not affiliated with a large corporate entity — able to be flexible for clients and staff, and built around the premise that you can love your work and your life too. Hanna Kerns
and Sami Elabed
joined me over the years and we formed a tight team. At Red Oak Realty we are still Orange Door Properties — a crew of like-minded and tenacious Realtors who partner as needed, support each other's efforts, and share resources and talents. We are still independent, still green, and able to offer even more support and resources for our clients.
AND THE KITCHEN SINK
Before becoming a Realtor, I worked for many years as a marketing professional. I was the Marketing Director for San Francisco Performances and New Century Chamber Orchestra as well as a Marketing Consultant and Events Producer for many arts and social service organizations in San Francisco and the East Bay.
In addition to these pursuits I have art directed and designed several independent films, commercials and photo shoots. I have a great eye, which is a huge asset for Sellers when it comes to staging their homes for sale. It's also a benefit for my Buyer clients as it helps me see the potential in a raw space, look beyond the staging to what may be camouflaged, as well as advise in choices about future remodeling and updating projects.
I've been in the Bay Area for over 20 years and live in Oakland with my son Ben and our dog, Firebolt. When not at work, I volunteer as part of the team who produce the East Bay Mini Maker Faire
, and am Co-Director of CAMP 510
, an arts and maker summer camp for kids.
As both our selling and buying agent, Corey was our advocate, our mentor and our unfailing resource for support and networking. We called Corey with questions ranging from the entirely practical to the utterly emotional and always received professional, well-reasoned, ethical advice that showed a clear understanding of our interests and our needs.
When we sold, she represented our home with a sense of style and taste which perfectly complimented the best qualities of the house. Her guidance allowed us to do the important work on the house without spending money unnecessarily, and her reliable connections in the building trades were immensely valuable as we proceeded to get the work done. She helped us develop a marketing strategy which was extremely successful, and which resulted in a far better deal for us than we had dared hope for.
Then we had to take on the frightening role of buyers in a harsh seller's market. Corey was able to fully understand our needs and our personal quirks; she helped us approach the task with a narrow focus that took advantage of our particular assets and tastes. Corey went to bat for us in negotiation and I do not doubt that if we had not had her to help us, we would not be in our new home, which we dearly love.
I recommend Corey with no reservations. Whether you are buying or selling, you could not have a more professional, more knowledgeable, or more engaged advocate working with you.
We wholeheartedly recommend Corey Weinstein to anyone searching for a sharp, honest, and all-around excellent realtor.
Corey recently helped us buy our first home in the extremely competitive Berkeley housing market. As rookies, we needed someone with abundance patience and excellent communication skills to walk us through the process, which we found at times bewildering. Corey very quickly became our trusted advisor. She seems to know all there is to know about the real estate game, and is able to communicate that knowledge clearly and easily.
At one point, we were on the verge of buying a house that, in retrospect, would have been a poor choice for our situation. We asked Corey her honest opinion about what we should do. A nudge from her might have been enough for us to buy the house; but to her credit, she advised against it, although it cost her the commission. We will always be grateful that she put our interests first. Not long after that, with Corey’s help, we found the perfect duplex for our multigenerational family. We’ll soon be moving in: two adults, a two year-old, and grandparents. Corey has continued to be an invaluable resource as we complete renovations to what we are certain will be a very happy home.
Corey is a real person and an honest broker. You won’t regret using her services.
We highly recommend Corey Weinstein's services as a real estate agent! Her professionalism, attention to detail, and attitude are simply top-notch.
She had helped us purchase our home in Kensington, and when we recently needed to sell and downsize to another home in the East Bay, we called her.
First off, Corey listened carefully to what we needed to do, and was totally focused on delivering just that, and on shepherding us through the whole process.
For the sale, Corey advised us how to make our home as appealing as possible. She then kept us on track to get it all done within budget and on our very tight schedule. Her network of repair people, cleaners, and stagers gave us a lot of options. Result: the house looked and felt wonderful and was sold quickly for way over our asking price.
As buyers, we were worried that we were rapidly being priced out of the area. But Corey quickly found several places where we could possibly negotiate the fast purchase we were looking for. Within a month of selling our old home we are in a new one! From our point of view, a grand success in an extremely challenging market!
My husband and I have worked with Corey Weinstein three times and she was the best. I feel comfortable recommending her to anyone considering a move to the East Bay.
She helped us find our first home in Berkeley; we didn't know what we didn't know about the neighborhoods, home financing, or fixer-uppers. She taught us a ton, always gave sound advice, and helped us close on the just-right house for us within weeks of our first meeting.
When we outgrew our first home, she helped us navigate the challenging territory of moving with children in tow by guiding us through purchasing a bigger home and selling the first one.
"Corey Weinstein is the best Realtor we have ever worked with. She listened to our wants and needs, found us the perfect home, and attentively walked us through the purchase process. It couldn't have gone more smoothly. When the time comes to move on, we plan to call upon Corey."
I recommend Corey without hesitation to anyone looking to buy or sell in the East Bay. She is smart, capable and kind, and led us through the complexities of the process with ease and good humor.
We sold our house in Oakland with Corey, relying heavily on her sound advice, and then she helped us to buy our current house in Berkeley. In the face of a very challenging market, she was always realistic with us, while encouraging us not to give up hope. We couldn't be more pleased with her work, the results of our sale, or our current home.
